August Patch - Review

Yo guys, what's good?

Az here once again and today we go over the newly released patch.

Let's get into it.

Holiday at the White Ocean Iris

The new gold Fate Core in the Summer Festa series.

We were all hoping for something good and boy, oh boy, they delivered.

Let's go about it from top to bottom:

Flop-Flop (previously Ice Shower)

Stays the same, but they changed the wording. Now Frigid bold reads as Polymorph.

She has the same Summer's Blessing as the other Summer Festa FCs.

Gains Frost Damage Immunity until hit by a Frost unit (all allies - can't be stacked)

Increases Attack by 50% when Frost Damage immunity is removed

Wet Fog

This is her new ability.

Removes all barriers the enemy has when the enemy uses barrier; once per round.

[Mark] When the enemy barrier is removed by the effect of Wet Fog, the defense of all enemies is decreased by 20% of own maximum Health for 9 turns.

This one is a bit tricky. First we have to lock at the wordings carefully.

Once per round - Same as other passives, occurs once until the hero gets another turn.

Once per turn - Every turn

Dragon Scales work every turn. So she can remove it, apply the lowered defense and then the shield goes back up. This is important to note. Since there isn't a block of Dragon Blood stacks, you will have easier fights, but still need to be careful about Wrath.

Additionally the wording of "own maximum Health" can be read two ways.

Iris' health or the health or the enemies own max health.

I really hope it's that of Iris since she has a good chunk of HP.

Mine is roughly at 6000 and should be at 6200 at level 90 with this FC.

This would mean 1240 decreased defense, which is even more than that of the Banga Family passive Heart strike.

We will see (or not, because who tests this stuff =p )

Another really cool thing is that now her S1 grants 2 Mana instead of 1. They seem to have removed the Shield, which is a little bit sucky, but 2 Mana is STONKS!

If you have, let's say Garff, you can use this ability right away and most of your team will be able to use their strong abilities on round 2.

Amazing for PVP and PVE, especially if you have something like FC Annie in addition.

Mana for DAYS!!!

Exclusive Weapons

Yay, they are in!

Airship forge Updates

Exclusive Weapon chance up

Just don't.

Armor Select option

I wish they brought this to Door to Creation, but unfortunately not.

There are better ways to spend 700 Xes. You can still get Magic Weapons from this.

Just use Door to Creation.

Path of Trials

Finally! Our new addition to PVE Content.

Rather than adding new Chapters (those will come with Season 2) we will get a new Challenge Mode.

This time you can fight against Bosses from the Story mode like your favorites.

Pitbull, Valentina and Jinn. Are you excited?

If not then... Man check out these rewards.

The top Milestone is worth 700 Xes, and you will get additional 600 Xes on the way.

  • Passes

  • 5~6 star Experience Scrolls

  • 5~6 star Abrasives

  • 5~6 star Spirits

  • Holy Water of the Universe

  • Mystic Meteorites (no idea what this is, but I guess they mean 5-colored Fate stones)

  • Gold

  • Legendary~Fated weapons

  • and Exclusive Weapon Craft Tickets

This is sick. I'm so looking forward to this. Getting Exclusive Weapons was so difficult and now we finally get the chance to get at least 5 (you can get dupes, so your mileage may vary).

This is amazing. And luckily this doesn't lock out new players. You can access this right after Chapter 4 Episode 6.

You might not get to the top rewards, but it's always great to see what lies ahead of you.

Yupir's Labyrinth

It has returned. And from what it looks in better shape than before.

Unlike last time, when it was a tower style format, you needing to climb your way to the top, this time it's actually a maze.

You start out at the lower levels and work your way up. Each completed stage will grant you will Xes. YES, more XES!

Last time you weren't able to progress if you are stuck at a lower stage, but this time it's actually 5 Areas, each with 5 Mazes. So if you can't beat one yet, you can do another Area and try your luck there.

Entries are still limited to 1 clear per day and it costs 20 Levi stones.

The Final Rewards are also pretty awesome.

  • 200 Heroic Tokens

  • 2 Million Gold

  • 1 Mu

  • 6 star Spirit

  • Holy Water of the Universe

Reminding you of something?

Exactly. These are the resources needed for the Hero Element Enhancement System.

Definitely another reason to push HARD into the Labyrinth.

Hero Element Enhancement System

I called it Attribute Enhancement system in my previous article, but it's the same.

Since nothing what I said was invalidated, I will not go into much detail, besides the actual costs. If you want to know more, click here.

From the screenshot we saw in the patch notes, the costs for +1 are:

  • 10 Five-Colored Fate Stones

  • 300.000 Gold

  • 300 Heroic Stones

  • 1 Mu

It's staggering costs with failure rates, so expect to drop a pretty penny on those.

Holy Dragon Grounds Update

We are getting Phase 4.

And this one will be rough

Phase 4 seems to be directly targeted to remove Shields and Marks, targeting First Guardians.

4th Phase Dragon Skills

  1. Cancels all buffs cast on targets This is aimed at shields, so expect lot tougher fights

  2. Damages all enemies with a ruthless roar and Stuns them Remember what I said about Rounds and Passives before? Your Cleansers can only cleanse once per Round. However the Dragon moves every 3 Turns, while your Hero only moves once in 12 turns (if you run a full team). We might see more supports coming into Dragons

  3. At the beginning of Phase 4, releases a breath that removes all marks on self and all targets. Again, armed at First Guardians directly. Unless I'm completely wrong, this could remove the Great Ones Mark and thus disabling Dragon Blood and Dragon Scales

  4. Activates Dragon Scale of Immortality and nullifies marks and other elemental damage. We don't have other strong marks, which would warrant such a wording. Unless I'm completely stupid, they want to remove cheese-ability from Dragons.

  5. Same as before

  6. Uses the enhanced Dragon Fang skill each round. Every round drastically increases Attack Went from increases Attack to "drastically" increases Attack. Whatever that means.

Passive of Dragon Knight Blessing, Dragon Hunter Blessing

Dragon Knight Blessing and Dragon Hunter Blessing will reduce the effect of Dragon Fang by 20%.

Increase is only 80% if Dragon Head Knight of the Dragons corresponding Element is in the team.

For Element Free Days, you should be able to Bring any Dragon Hunter or Dragon Knight. Bring both, just to be safe.

Gift from the Great One Update

Do you remember, that players get the Polymong Pet, when they reach a certain grade in Embodiment of Avarice?

Yeah me neither. Anyhow, if you see a player with a pet in town, you can talk to it and get rewards.

Yay, more hanging out in town I guess.

New Hero Battle

We are getting the battles back, so players who were frustrated or confused why they couldn't clear the mission, can do so finally.

This time we are getting April.

She is a Healer. I mentioned it in my "Supporters" article, but she is kinda weak. Still get her, it's a free Legendary.

World Event - Bayer Electric Fan

We have them a ton in Japan. Cool things, keep you nice and cool.

For the game it's the same as the Feathers and Ice thingies.

Gather them in Exploration or when fighting Golems/Totems and use them in DtC to summon Heroes or Experience Scrolls/Abrasives.

Exos Pass Update

That is amazing news. I wondered if they will delay it, but it comes back shortly after the last one ended.

The 3000 Crystals I spend were definitely a worthwhile investment and I can recommend anybody who looks to spend on something to get the Exos Pass.

Next to the Daily Xes for a Month, this is the best value in the game.

Smaller things

Wug Run Fest bugfix Now shouldn't switch from Solo to Multi anymore when you double tap the "Solo mode" button.

Great one Passive

Now should correctly remove Dragon Blood if not attacked for 2 turns

And that's it.

I hope you all enjoyed my review of the patch notes.

Let me know what you think.

As always it was a pleasure to have you here and I will see you in the next one.

Until then, enjoy the Grind.
