The King has returned

Yo guys, what's good.

Az here, once again and today we are talking about the recent Meta changes in PVP.

Let's get into it.

Prior to Global release

Most of the Global audience probably hasn't heard about Exos Heroes before the actual Global release. However, the game had been out since November 29th, 2019 in Korea.

During this time, a strong AoE and cleave Meta had been established and it was frustrating for a majority of players.

One Hero that made the PVP a nightmare was Shufraken, especially with his FC.

His oppressive nature, paired with a passive benefiting from low health enemies, has made him a force to be reckoned with.

Global Release

Now we shift to May 28th, 2020. The game is released on Global and with it, we get a new Banner - the First guardians.

In a parallel Universe, the Lineage's of 7 Houses have been awakened

While they might share a similar appearance with our Heroes, they are nothing alike.

Devoted to the Dragon King they try to regain their former strength and right the wrongs of the past.

And with that, a new PVP meta formed. A meta where bringing DoT or AoE would severely punish you. A meta where a single Hero could take on an entire team.

The old Meta has been shoved away and for almost 10 gruesome weeks, there has been nothing but Dragon blood in the Zebensturnier.

We tried to find our ways around it, developing only the strongest single-target characters and bringing only the most necessary AoE with us.

The rework of FC Annie gave us a boost in dealing with the Guardians however, it was a band-aid solution, that only highlighted the issues.

The game had shifted from one horrendous Meta into the next.

Summer Festa

Fast forward to June 28th, 2020.

The summer is going on in full swing in Exos. FC Degas and FC Scarlet had been released and although fun to play with for a while, they didn't have the impact we were looking for.

They gave us yet another tool to deal with the Meta, making Bathory and FC Anastasia less of a threat to use. A Meta shift wasn't really in sight though.

A day later...

FC Iris has entered the beach and damn, she is looking fine.

Boys and Girls alike can't help to stare at her.

The snowy white fabric on her slightly tanned skin. Water glistering in the sunlight as you observe her curves.

Her strikingly icy blue eyes do nothing to cool you down and when she walks past you, you can't help but turn your head and stare at her...

Wait... this is about PVP.

Ignore what I said before. FC Iris was released and she brought a new passive into the mix. She is the first Hero, of hopefully many, to remove Shields and lowering the whole enemy teams Defense at the same time.

From one day to another Dragon Blood has a definite counter.

She has been slotted into every team, and people started replacing their Guardians slowly. If you are living in a Monarchy, you have to replace royalty with other royalty, don't you?

And while the new Kings and Queens slowly and wounded leave the battlefield, somebody we have almost forgotten appears from the Shadows.

"You thought I was done? A true King will return. In this or any other world, I shall sit atop the throne."

The old King of the Meta has returned. And with Iris on his side, he is stronger than ever.

Shufraken and his FC (which is the Dragon Emperor from the other world) have been on the rise.

Where just a couple days prior people commented "RIP" on Shufraken pulls, they are now actively considering trying their luck in his SoC.

We are still in a very early stage or the Meta change and people try to actively find counters for the counter of the counter.

FC Iris has single-handedly brought an end to the Dragon Blood Era. With the end of that reign, the old cleave makes a strong return.

Over the next coming weeks, especially with the upcoming release of FC Valentina, we are all in various states of emotion.

Some players thoroughly love the change, because Dragon Blood was annoying and frustrating.

A few more are concerned that you will need FC Iris to compete.

And a large portion of our players hates it, going as far as calling for nerfs on Shufraken.

The community is split and we can only hope that Line Games will give us multiple options to deal with a problem.

Having a chase character is great in a Gacha, but many games have faltered when banking too much on players going for banner after banner.

Hopefully, with the release of Season 2 at the end of August we will see new characters introduced, that are obtainable without FC and can help deal with the Meta.

And that's already it.

If you like my content, consider subscribing to my youtube channel. You can find the link to that in the top banner.

I make 5-6 videos a week, reviewing characters, and making detailed guides.

Currently, my main game is Exos Heroes, but in the future, I might cover other games as well.

As always, it was a pleasure to have you here and I will see you in the next one.

Until then. Enjoy the grind.
