Yo guys, what's good?
Az here, once again with another installment of Quick cuts, and today I wanted to take a closer look at FC Xiakhan.
Let's get into it.
Skills
Passive: His passive is Thrust 3, retaliating with 30% damage and stunning the opponent for 5 turns.
He will gain 1 Mana, if the target's Health is at 80% or more.
Additionally he removes 1 Mana from the target and then receives 1 Mana if the target is below 30% HP.
Awakening Passive: An enemy who killed an ally will be marked and once the marked target dies or gets damaged, the Awakening effect triggers.
FC Xiakhan will gain 360 Block, but in turn lose 180 Critical hit.
Like all other Awakening FCs, he will gain 25 Attack Speed and gain Invulnerability for 4 turns, when his health drops below 30%.
S1: Deals 300% damage to 1 enemy. If the enemy is Disheartened a Critical hit is guaranteed.
S2: Deals 210% damage to all back row enemies. When the enemies are Disheartened this will always Crit.
Gear and Stats
His Gear is all Legendary pieces at 30, with the accessory being at 40.
For him, I want to get as much Block, Attack speed and Crit Damage. Optimally you want to get as much attack on him as possible.
PVE and PVP viability
I think he can be used for PVE as well, but he would simply be another Damage Dealer.
He doesn't provide enough CC to make your fights easier.
If you need additional damage he could be okay, but I don't think this is his strengths.
I took him into 2 PVP matches.
The team I brought with him were FC Rera, FC Bathory, FC Annie and FC Degas.
Yes, I wanted a full FC team, but I also thought about synergy.
Him with FC Degas as a Front line would give him immunity against Frost units and due to the share Health cause polymorph fairly regularly.
Having a single Mana ability, makes Bathory's presence nice, since he can always hit with his harder hitting ability.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
This Hero has by far some of the coolest Skill animations in Exos. It looks bold and menacing.
The FC changes his look into that of a Dragon-Human hybrid. Overall Style points are definitely up there.
Weaknesses:
Where do I begin? I have no idea what the design philosophy was, when they created Xiakhan. With the FC they simply gave him a passive, which unfortunately also doesn't really make him better. He gains a huge Block Chance, but looses Critical Hit rate.
I'm really uncertain what his role was supposed to be. He isn't a tank, doesn't require a lot of Mana, which would justify the block and his overall stick is Critical hits.
Now, because of Dishearten, he is tied to Rachel. All in all nothing to complain there, unless you compare him to the other units that benefit from Dishearten.
Baraka gains Plunder and provides your team with Mana, while FC Zeon resets his turn, if he kills a disheartened unit.
Unfortunately Xiakhan is a Defender, making his attack stat super low. He won't hit that hard and additional Crit chance won't change that. If you think about it in terms of multipliers, he gains around 200% with really good gear, making his attacks hit around the same as Garff's.
If you bring Rachel, you would negate the downside of the passive, since he always crits with S1 and S2, however I'm not sure this is enough.
For a Defender, he has high base speed, but other than that, his stats are just average.
He is one of the more rare units in the game along with Rudley, Rera, Valentina and Jinn, however his performance could be better compared to Bernavas.
If you compare him directly to Valarr, who fills the same role, the differences are shockingly obvious.
Valarr's passive synergy with Garff is way better, he deals more damage and has arguably the better FC passive.
Conclusion
I only recently got the FC when pulling for FC Rachel on the SoC.
Unfortunately I knew already from my "Defender" video how he stacks up against the rest.
He is an average Hero with amazing animations. That's about it.
Since he is a black FC, the chances for a rework are higher, but if and when that comes can only Line Games tell. So far the Core Reverse have been great with Annie and good with Deva, but we don't know if the trend continues.
All in all he is underwhelming, so if you don't have massive amounts of resources lying around, you should bench him for now.
I'm really sorry, that I don't have much positive to say about him, but in this series I also don't want to sugar coat anything.
And that's already it.
I hope you enjoyed it and if so, hit subscribe on my youtube channel and give the video a like.
Let me know in the comments, what you think about Xiakhan and his FC and let me know if there is somebody you want to see featured.
As always, it was a pleasure to have you here and I will see you in the next one.
Until then, enjoy the Grind.
